Ingram Micro, Cisco Intro New Security Assessment Services

Ingram Micro and Cisco on Thursday introduced a new trio of security-assessment services aimed at helping channel partners strengthen and grow their IT security practices.

Developed in conjunction with Cisco, Ingram Micro’s new FirePOWER Network Threat Assessments enable IT service providers in the United States and Canada to identify network and endpoint security gaps. This new service is part of Ingram Micro’s Professional Services portfolio.

“The increasing volume and sophistication around cybersecurity attacks is a clear call to action for IT service providers and MSPs to specialize in and become IT security experts,” said Tim Ament, Ingram Micro’s senior vice president, advanced solutions. “Managed IT security is a large and growing service model for the channel.”{ad}

Partners can market the assessments as their own to maintain brand continuity. Once the assessment is complete, they have the option to select, source and deploy Cisco’s ASA Firewalls to address the customer’s needs.

Cisco-authorized configuration, and installation and mentoring services also are available through Ingram Micro’s Professional Services organization.

“While the digitization of customers’ business processes increases, security becomes even more critical and poses a challenge for many of our channel partners to address at scale,” said Andrew Sage, Cisco’s vice president, Americas distribution, Global Partner Organization.

Ingram Micro has more than 200,000 customers in 160 countries, and 122 distribution centers globally.
