UCaaS provider NetFortris has officially welcomed a new platinum partner, Cynergy Telecom, into its fold, a little more than six months after launching its channel program (announced at the Spring 2015 Channel Partners Conference & Expo).
On a call to update Channel Partners, D.J. Kreft, regional vice president for NetFortris, said that the company’s channel-generated pipeline has doubled between the first and second quarters of 2015, and through its success now accounts for more than half of the company’s revenue.
NetFortris supplies hosted voice, video and data on its own Cloud Services Platform, which is based on the Genband Experius Telephony Application Server, Messaging Server and WebRTC gateway. This three-part platform, in turn, incorporates carrier-grade switching technologies purchased from Nortel when that telecom equipment giant left the field. NetFortris’ business model also differs from over-the-top UCaaS players in that it combines unified, multimedia communications with its own Tier-1 connectivity, on its own managed MPLS network.

Kreft reports particularly strong partner momentum in the MSP/white-label space, and big wins in multi-location retail, financial services, and health care. Since NetFortris provides its own managed network, it satisfies the requirements of MSPs that “don’t want to be CLECs,” he says, with all the headaches and charges that might require to establish compliance with HIPAA (health care) and Sarbox (financial) regulation. Since the provider can confer that compliance on that MSP, “it can get into the game faster.”
The WebRTC gateway also allows developers to build voice and video calling into Web applications, using the browser as an endpoint. Such customers can then provision those calls through Netfortris’ network.
With the addition of Atlanta-based Cynergy, NetFortris provides expertise in all North American business hubs, according to Kreft’s statement in the release. And a big win comes …
… with the partnership: One of the nation’s top homebuilders, Walton Communities, selected Netfortris and Cynergy to meet the communications needs of its mobile workforce and growing footprint of communities. The Walton contract calls for secure connectivity, IP voice and collaboration, and professional services.
