Birch Expands SMB Broadband North and West

Birch Communications announced Monday that it has expanded its BirchNet Broadband Internet footprint by more than 60 percent.

This new coverage area includes 14 states across and next to the Northern Tier, Rockies and Pacific Northwest, bringing the total to 36 states and approximately 1 million business customers. Additionally, Birch offers speeds up to 1Gbps in qualified areas using Ethernet over Copper and metro-fiber technologies.

Available in incremental speeds up to 24 Mbps down and 3 Mbps up, BirchNet Broadband can be bundled with a nationwide voice package. The Atlanta-based connectivity provider is also enticing new subscribers with two free months of service at sign-up; its published retail price is $119.95 at 24Mbps and $74.95 at 12/1 Mbps.

Birch’s network now spans 44 major markets, enabling more multi-location deployments under its own brand and management.

“This expansion provides more businesses with affordable broadband connectivity to support their demanding cloud computing, managed services, application and content needs,” noted Greg Corwin, Birch’s director of product marketing.
