CenturyLink Kicks Off ‘Elevate’ Hybrid IT Tour

Want to learn practical lessons on managed hosting, big datadisaster recovery and data-center trends without reaching out to vendors?

CenturyLink hopes to see you at one of the stops on its multi-city educational tour, starting July 15. Geared to shed light and spread inspiration on these topics, the aptly named “Elevate” series kicks off in Boston and features “Cloudnomics” author Joe Weinman and CIO Magazine contributing editor Julia King, as well as CenturyLink executives and industry experts in big data, security and data recovery, software development and data-center trends.

Blake Wetzel, VP of CenturyLink’s Channel Alliance, called the series “directed to any enterprise on the path to digital transformation and hybrid IT.” Customers, prospects and partners are all urged to attend.

“The sessions will provide practical advice on topics ranging from identifying and mitigating security and compliance gaps in business and IT strategy, to hands-on labs for deploying and leveraging Agile development methodologies and tools like platform-as-a-service.”

Wetzel further assured Channel Partners that partner speakers will appear at all Elevate events.

“In many cities partners are participating with us in customer and press meetings,” he added. “They are also benefiting from visibility in all event promotions and in our broader social-media campaign.”

Asked if the events would generate leads for CTL partners, he answered affirmatively.

“While the program is mainly intended for industry thought leadership and as an education opportunity for our customers, many of the smaller events have lead-generation components that benefit our participating partners.”
