The first of three new services, Polycom says RealPresence Web Suite connects users to a visual collaboration network from anywhere on any device, with the click of a Web link. Features include a secure, shared workspace; virtual whiteboard/blackboard; and a plug-in free experience.
Also new is the RealPresence Media Suite. It is designed to turn any workspace into a media studio. Media Suite is a recording and webcasting portal that allows users to record, share, stream and play back full-motion video during meetings via a Web browser. It complements an organization’s existing video infrastructure and integrates with other collaboration tools.
Finally, RealPresence Cloud provides access to cloud video collaboration with click-to-connect functionality. It’s accessible via a Web browser and Skype for Business, just to name a couple – promising the “same enterprise-grade, secure video experience across a variety of voice and video endpoints,” the company said. That includes standards-based room systems. A subscription to RealPresence Cloud includes licenses for other services on the RealPresence Platform, including desktop and mobile software applications.
RealPresence Cloud is sold by select Polycom partners. It includes many new, user-centric features. Also included are enhanced support tools and analytics.
“Productivity is redefined when collaboration tools are easy to use and integrated into the daily workflow,” said Ashan Willy, Polycom senior vice president of Worldwide Systems Engineering and Product Management. “Accessibility and integration matter. Experience matters. Productivity and efficiency matter. The market is changing, and today’s announcement is symbolic of our mission to meet those needs by taking collaboration beyond the walls of the traditional office and making it easier and more intuitive.”
The Polycom RealPresence Media Suite is available globally today. The Polycom RealPresence Cloud is scheduled to be available in July, and RealPresence Web Suite is scheduled to be available in August.
