AT&T announced Thursday that it is offering its business fiber in more than 180 U.S. cities.
AT&T Business Fiber boasts a maximum speed of 300 megabits per second, but AT&T says that will increase to 1 gigabit per second. The company said businesses will have the ability to video conference, upload, download, share, and back up data. Tom Hughes, vice president of small business at AT&T, said the fiber allows for “the ability to upload and download at the same high speed [that] allows companies to work faster with customers, partners and suppliers.”
The Internet service had previously been running in 21 cities. The fiber-network growth continues the company’s competition with the recently expanded Google Fiber. AT&T added 11 new states, including Nevada, Oklahoma and North Carolina.
