Polycom Focuses on Collaboration, IT Flexibility With New Releases

Polycom, the conferencing and collaboration behemoth, is introducing several new services aimed at helping IT administrators “make smarter decisions, drive adoption and protect their UC and collaboration investments.”

The Polycom RealAccess services delivery platform is designed to provide personalized and near-real time data through a secure, cloud-based portal. It allows IT administrators to analyze, manage and make decisions regarding their collaboration environment based on use, capacity and success rates.

“Organizations are making significant investments in collaboration technology, and because every organization is unique, they need a partner who can build a solution that satisfies their business needs today and well into the future,” said Navin Mehta, Polycom’s senior vice president of global services.

The new platform more quickly identifies performance issues, with a goal of improving the experience for the end user. It also aims to give IT the flexibility to choose specific applications that best fit their needs, such as asset management, and data and metrics on utilization, capacity and performance.

It includes a library of training videos to help people use collaboration tools, driving adoption across all levels of an organization.

In addition, Polycom has broadened its Managed Services offering to help customers who want to outsource all or part of their video collaboration investments. Managed Services monitors, detects and resolves new issues or threats to current infrastructure, while offering reporting and diagnostic tools to increase efficiency and maximize the return on investment.

Organizations of any size adding enterprise voice to their Microsoft Lync (Skype for Business) deployments and using Polycom VVX business media phones will have access to additional services offerings through Polycom VVX Services for Lync.

These service offerings are aimed at helping customers optimize their networks and infrastructure, familiarizing administrators and users with the features of the device, and providing planning assistance.

The Polycom RealAccess platform and Polycom Managed Services now are available globally, while Polycom VVX Services for Lync will be available in late spring.
