Unidesk Boosts VDI Effort With Expanded Channel Program

Unidesk Corp., a provider of desktop and application management software for the cloud, on Wednesday introduced its expanded partner program for VARs, system integrators and service providers.

The newly enhanced Unidesk Solution Partner program aims to provide the company’s partners with tools and resources to help customers modernize the end-user computing experience. Unidesk says it “brings simplicity and scale to the management of remote Windows desktops and applications.”

Don Bulens, Unidesk’s president and CEO, tells Channel Partners the goal is “really around expansion of our elite partners, who are highly engaged, have VDI and Unidesk expertise on their staff, and are conducting joint marketing with and are really able to focus on growing both of our businesses.”

Unidesk currently has more than 200 signed partners and more than 20 elite partners globally.

“We are not out for a great channel land grab; we are all about and oriented around high-quality, high-value relationships that delight customers and grow our businesses together,” he said. “Our elite partners get marketing funding that’s not provided to all partners, and some additional resources and support.”

The enhanced program provides a one-stop shop for lead generation, sales enablement, education and training, and support, as well as access to Unidesk team members.

VDI has been stalled by cost and complexity, preventing VARs from fully capitalizing on the opportunity to help customers provide access to Windows applications anytime, anywhere and from any device, said Samantha Foster, Unidesk’s vice president of alliances and channel.

“Our expanded program meets the needs of our growing partner base by delivering meaningful value and impact to their business,” she said. “VDI has been too complex and challenging. Now, our partners … have a customer-proven solution … support for Citrix, Microsoft and VMware, and the tools they need to identify, nurture and close business.”

Unidesk is relying on the channel to “help us expand our business into the Hyper-V community and beyond into the cloud,” Bulens said. During the next several weeks, “it will become apparent” that Unidesk will be “expanding out from data center to cloud desktop virtualization,” he said.

“We have product announcements that are coming in May at Microsoft Ignite and Citrix Synergy that will vastly expand the value of Unidesk,” he said. “We’ll almost triple our total addressable market with the product announcements that are coming in the next month. We needed to launch this initiative to be able to reach out to the Citrix and Microsoft community, and it will make more sense to them in the coming weeks.”
