Distribution giant Tech Data has promoted two of its executives.
Pete Peterson is now senior vice president of business development, and will be responsible for new vendor partner acquisition and diversification opportunities. He has served as senior vice president of U.S. sales since May 2010.
Marty Bauerlein has been promoted to senior vice president of U.S. sales, and will lead the strategic direction of the company’s IT VAR customer channel and relationships in the U.S., while developing new growth opportunities for the company and its channel partners across both traditional and new business models. He also will lead the development and execution of the U.S. sales plan.
He has served as vice president of U.S. VAR sales since May 2010.
“Pete’s extensive IT channel experience and network of relationships make him uniquely qualified for his new strategic position,” said Bob Dutkowsky, Tech Data CEO. “Marty is a proven leader who is adept at building a high-performance sales culture and helping our partners grow. With the IT VAR market playing a key role in Tech Data’s U.S. growth strategy, he is a natural fit to lead our U.S. sales organization to the next level.”
Peterson has been with Tech Data since 1996 and was named its President of the Year in 2001. Bauerlein joined the company in 2004 and received its Vice President of the Year award in 2011.
Tech Data generated $27.7 billion in net sales for the fiscal year ended Jan. 31, 2015. It is ranked No. 111 on the Fortune 500.
