Gigamon has a new global channel chief.
It’s Scott Sullivan, whose title will be vice president of worldwide channel sales. Sullivan most recently was senior VP of worldwide sales, channels and alliances at VSS Monitoring, a network-management software company. He also has held senior leadership positions at Jupiter Systems, Intera Group and Vidsoft.
Sullivan’s role at Gigamon will be to develop the company’s channel strategy, working closely with distributors and partners to identify growth opportunities. Gigamon, which has 200 partners around the world, sells software and associated hardware for improving network traffic visibility.
“Scott has a strong track record in building, expanding and managing a global channel strategy,” said Helmut Wilke, Gigamon’s SVP of worldwide sales. “We view our partners as a critical extension of our own Gigamon team, and we are committed to their success. With Scott’s leadership, we can further increase our collaboration and help our network of partners grow their businesses at an accelerated rate.”
Gigamon made a name for itself several years ago as the first vendor to offer a network-monitoring switch. The company is now best known for its Visibility Fabric architecture, which is capable of monitoring traffic from devices and applications, across physical, virtual and SDN environments, as well as public and private clouds. It competes with big names like Cisco and Juniper Networks, but also a handful of niche players.
