Lightower Fiber Networks has broadened its direct connectivity options to Amazon Web Services’ (AWS) cloud computing platform.
Customers can now connect to AWS securely via Lightower’s switched Ethernet services, as well as wavelengths and dark fiber. Speeds range from 50Mbps to 500Mbps. The expanded connectivity options aim to help those customers that need AWS access with less than 1G of connectivity.
An added benefit, Lightower notes, is that customers don’t have to establish an incremental cross-connect between Lightower and AWS, making it more cost-effective and less complex. Lightower first announced Direct Connect services with AWS at the end of last year.
“ … Lightower’s expanded access options open up AWS Direct Connect to a much larger portion of the market,” said Doug Dalissandro, chief revenue officer for Lightower. “Customers harnessing the power of the AWS cloud combined with the Lightower Network will experience the highest levels of network/cloud performance.”
Lightower’s Ethernet portfolio includes MetroE Advanced Private Line, E-Line, Ethernet Virtual Private Line (EVPL), and Ethernet Private LAN (E-LAN).
