ScanSource has unveiled a unified communications cloud service powered by the Avaya IP Office platform.
Offered through ScanSource Catalyst, a sales unit of ScanSource Inc., it’s designed to help resellers deliver the same communications experience as if the IP Office platform were deployed on premises – but in a streamlined, pay-per-user, per-month model.
The new service, based on Avaya’s flagship collaboration platform for small and midsize businesses, will be hosted by ViaWest, the colocation, managed services and cloud provider.
ScanSource says VARs that sell the cloud UC offering will get the pre-sales support, proprietary quoting tools and dedicated sales support that they are accustomed to through Catalyst. And through a partnership with Avaya Financial Services, ScanSource Catalyst will also provide leasing options around the remaining on-premises hardware, including Avaya phones, routers and switches, allowing for the entire communication solution to be billed monthly.
“As the market for cloud-based solutions grows, channel partners have a new opportunity to help customers navigate the technologies needed to help their business operate at the top of its game,” said Richard Steranka, vice president, worldwide channels, Avaya. “With [this new service], both resellers and their customers have an industry-leading unified communications solution in a highly flexible, OpEx model,”
“This new offering … gives partners like us the freedom to continue to own and manage the relationship with our end-user customer, while also enabling our sales teams to sell and deploy IP Office in the way that best meets our customers’ needs,” said Ed Dolan, executive vice president, DJJ Technologies, a ScanSource Catalyst reseller partner.
