Verizon Enterprise Solutions is rolling out new enhancements to its cloud offerings later this month, making it easier for customers to choose their service level and integrate with other cloud platforms.
Specifically, Verizon will unveil a new services model and capabilities, plus a tighter link with Amazon Web Services (AWS).
On Tuesday, Verizon said the Verizon Cloud portfolio allows customers the option to choose “from public cloud infrastructure with limited support to a private, on-premise cloud that is fully managed by Verizon, and any option in between.” The goal, according to the company, is to give customers flexibility and control over their cloud environments so they may better match their workload needs and network protocols with their financial means.
“We’re building on what makes Verizon unique — a heritage in cloud and a unique set of network, security and managed services assets,” said Siki Giunta, senior vice president of cloud, Verizon Enterprise Solutions, in a prepared company blog. “The goal is to provide enterprises with the technology solutions they need –in the manner they need them – to drive business transformation.”
This enhanced Verizon Cloud will feature several services tiers, plus “onboarding and workload migration services, seamless integration with third-party cloud services and several deployment options ranging from public cloud to private on-premise cloud,” according to the company.
Regardless of the tier they choose, Verizon Cloud customers will be able to leverage Verizon’s global network technologies, including the Verizon Secure Cloud Interconnect, which provides Private IP (PIP) access to an increasing number of major cloud service providers. To that end, Verizon Enterprise Solutions announced on Tuesday that it has added Amazon Web Services (AWS) to its list of cloud services accessible via the Secure Cloud Interconnect (SCI) service. This will help customers more easily manage “a multi-cloud environment that allows for dynamic bandwidth allocation, application performance throughput, quality of service and usage-based billing,” according to Verizon.
