CompTIA ChannelCon — Technology distribution giant Tech Data Corp. says that Tech Data Mobile Solutions has improved CellManage, the cloud-based portal that centralizes the management of mobile devices through integration with wireless carriers, enterprise mobility management (EMM), and corporate IT systems.
Tech Data says integration enhancements allow EMM providers to ensure seamless security and policy enforcement, including centralization with wireless carries for all devices. New features include consultative services that guide in establishing mobile programs, policies and processes; remote and onsite device preparation, logistics, and training services; expense management services that reduce costs and efficiently manage the financial aspects of mobile programs; and life cycle services that decommission and facilitate the trade-in of end-of-life devices while keeping data safe.
“Our new enhancements to CellManage provide resellers with a comprehensive platform that manages asset tracking, billing, deployment and procurement of mobile devices,” said Heather Murray, vice president, Tech Data Mobile Solutions. “CellManage offers solution providers a complete set of management tools and services to increase visibility, reduce costs, and increase efficiency of solution providers’ mobile program. Through CellManage, solution providers can fully leverage an innovative end-to-end solution for mobile devices and activations.”
Powered by MOBI, the mobility management service, Tech Data says CellManage helps solution providers and wireless carrier partners deliver a better experience for their mutual customers in the sale and management of wireless deployments. The portal provides end-to-end procurement and recycling, pre-flight device provisioning, ’round-the-clock technical help-desk support, ongoing expense optimization, and departmental cost reallocation to help automate business processes and drive down unnecessary risks and costs associated with managing any mobile environment.
The CellManage portal also provides solution providers with the opportunity to view order history, status and invoices. The portal can be branded or white-labeled to appear as the solution provider’s exclusive site, providing a customized product and end-to-end solution to complete the sale with their end user, while the ability to maintain customer accounts through the portal provides a recurring revenue source through cycling service bills. Additionally, solution providers are in touch with the management of the end user’s account, keeping their business up-to-date with activation renewals.
