Mobile-analytics firm RootMetrics just released its new numbers for most of the Sunshine State’s major markets – including Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Fort Myers and Tampa – where it named VzW the top performer in each. AT&T was a close second throughout, tied by T-Mobile in Tampa and Fort Myers. Sprint finished in last among the big four in all of the Florida cities.
Verizon likely got a lift from the rollout of its newest XLTE network technology.
Big Red hung onto its crown in Florida; it was named the top performer across much of the state at the end of 2013 as well. These new results cover the first half of 2014. The scores for overall performance include results across data, call, and text testing. A good overall RootScore means strong overall coverage and a good consumer experience.
It’s been a good week for Verizon Wireless. It was just named the top performer in Washington, D.C., on Monday.
