Avaya Adds UCaaS, Contact Center to Collaboration Pods

Avaya this week introduced two new Collaboration Pods models.

The additions let cloud service providers offer UCaaS and contact-center-as-a-service.

“Collaboration Pods,” components made up of Avaya, EMC and VMware products, help Avaya’s Collaborative Cloud platforms deploy faster. Collaborative Cloud is Avaya’s formal strategy for delivering communications and collaboration services via public, private and hybrid cloud models.

Collaboration Pods comprise virtualized storage, computing and networking. Combined, they support complex applications such as virtual desktop infrastructure. They come customized and preconfigured to each customer’s requirements, and can support multitenancy deployments.

Avaya has enhanced all of its Collaboration Pod models with its Fabric Connect networking. Fabric Connect, a standards-based network virtualization technology that improves network performance.

The new pods will be generally available in the third quarter of 2014.
