CenturyLink Inc. plans to open three new data centers in North America this year and expand within five where it already operates.
The company said the move is necessitated by global demand for cloud, colocation and managed services.
The new builds and expansions will offer more than 180,000 square feet of additional space and bring more than 20 megawatts of additional power to the company’s footprint, CenturyLink said.
The markets targeted for new builds or expansion are Chicago; Irvine, Calif.; Minneapolis, Minn.; Phoenix, Ariz.; Reading, England; Toronto; Sterling, Va.; and Weehawken, N.J.
The California Public Utilities Commission's statutory deadline is July 12. dlvr.it/RNsbY7
