Integra, a competitive service provider, announced Wednesday that it has entered into an agreement with the Agent Alliance, an industry consortium of telecom and IT companies, to become a preferred provider.
Under the agreement, the Agent Alliance’s 18 member companies now can sell Integra’s business communications services as well as its long-haul and metro fiber networks. Integra provides services in 35 metropolitan markets in the Western United States. Integra owns and operates an network consisting of a 6,400 mile long-haul fiber-optic network, 3,000 miles of metropolitan fiber and a nationwide IP/MPLS network. Its fiber network connects directly to more than 2,500 enterprise buildings and data centers. Through its Ethernet-over-copper footprint, it can deliver high-bandwidth services to more than 460,000 businesses.
The agreement comes just weeks after Integra named its new channel chief, Tom Gorey, who left XO’s channel team to become vice president of indirect channels for Integra.

Agent Alliance CEO Bill Power said the agreement with Integra supports the alliance’s new focus on cloud services. Founded in 1997, the Agent Alliance is a corporation owned by its member agencies, that in addition to joint contracts, support the development of best practices, policy, profitability and productivity. Agent Alliance members represent more than $500 million in billings under management. Agent Alliance members specialize in voice and data services, wide area networks, collaboration technologies, VoIP, and the new generation of cloud services.
