After less than a month, AT&T has ended its promotion paying T-Mobile customers to switch mobile carriers.

The promotion, which premiered just before the Consumer Electronics Show in January, paid T-Mobile customers up to $450 to switch to AT&T. T-Mobile launched a similar offer at the same time. Its promotion offers customers up to $650 to trade in their phone and switch from another carrier.

The cancelation comes in the wake of an ongoing catfight between T-Mobile CEO John Legere and AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson, the Wall Street Journal noted. The notoriously vocal Legere criticized the end of AT&T’s promotion on his Twitter account:  “That was quick! @ATT already revoking the $450 bribe to @TMobile customers? People werent falling for it, were they #Randall? #doingitwrong.”

But AT&T spokesman Brad Burns said the promotion had only been intended to run for a limited time.

In what is perhaps a different tactic, AT&T recently cut prices on its family plans to encourage both current and new customers to switch. AT&T also gives customers a $100 bill credit for every new line they add to their accounts.
