Unify, the former Siemens Enterprise Communications, this week introduced a user-based licensing program for its OpenScape Enterprise and contact center unified communications platforms.
The initiative gives customers an opex, subscription option to traditional up-front payment plans. Unify said Enterprise Licensing further provides volume discount tiers based on number of users and a three-year guarantee that lets end users add users at a known fixed price. There are “no hidden costs or surprises,” said Frederic Simard, vice president of pricing and portfolio commercialization for Unify.
Further, the new licensing approach “should increase customers interest in purchasing UC solutions, as well as make it easier for them to select the package that makes sense for them,” said Brian Riggs, principal analyst at Ovum.
Unify, which sells through channel partners, said Enterprise Licenses now are available worldwide.
