Don’t expect Nokia to take a break from production and development to relish in the glow of its first tablet, the Lumia 2520. The Finland-based company is supposedly prepping another tablet PC, which is expected to be released some time in the first quarter of next year.
The new device, codename Illusionist, is to have an 8-inch screen and may possibly be the upcoming Lumia 2020, Unwired View reported.
The Lumia 2020 is expected to be a high-end tablet, likely to be showcased at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show in January or Mobile World Congress in February.
The 2520 just landed in the U.S. last week. The Windows-based tablet has a 10-inch screen; 2GB of RAM; 32 GB of internal storage; and a quad-core, 2.2 GHz processor. The company is marketing it toward both the general consumer and the business user.
Microsoft is expected to close on its purchase of Nokia’s devices and services unit by the end of the year, so it will be interesting to see Nokia’s road map going forward.
