Charter Business is rolling out a partner portal to its indirect sales agents, replacing a mostly manual quote-to-order process for its coax services with a self-service Web tool.
The tool was rolled out to four Charter Business partners over the past few weeks with on-boarding for additional partners planned for two a week for the next six months.
Michael Fair, vice president of channel sales and national accounts for Charter Business, said instead of calling a quotes team, partners will be able to get quotes themselves and a lot more.
The portal, which is based on Salesforce.com, enables partners to check service availability; generate quotes, proposals and contracts; submit orders and track them through provisioning. Significantly, Fair said, the tool enables partners to initiate site surveys where needed.
The cableco expects to enable partners to view billing status and commission reports by late 2014, Fair said.
The new portal is hierarchical, allowing for segmented views for master agents, subagents and also subagents of subagents, Fair explained.
