Oracle Taps HP Exec as New Channel Chief

Oracle announced Tuesday that former HP executive Rich Geraffo will join the hardware/software leader as senior vice president, Worldwide Alliances and Channels, filling the channel chief post for the Oracle PartnerNetwork vacated last spring.

Oracle's Rich GeraffoGeraffo comes to the job from HP where he served as senior vice president and managing director of HPs Enterprise Business in the Americas. Prior to HP, Geraffo was vice president and general manager of the Americas region for VMware Inc. Previously, he held positions as executive vice president of worldwide sales and services and senior vice president of Americas Software Sales at BEA Systems. He also held various sales leadership positions during his tenure at IBM and was a financial consultant at Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc.

In his new role, Geraffo will report to Oracle President Mark Hurd, and will be responsible for the ongoing development and execution of OPN as well as initiatives aimed at generating revenue for partners.

OPN Specialized is the latest version of Oracle’s partner program. It provides partners with tools to develop, sell and implement Oracle solutions as well as the ability for partners to differentiate through specializations achieved through competency development, business results, expertise and proven success.
