SYNNEX: Partners’ Cloud, Mobility Opportunities Abound

Cloud and mobility are changing the market in ways never before seen. That was the message from Kevin Murai, president and CEO of distributor SYNNEX Corp., at its national conference Thursday in Greenville, S.C.

Murai noted that the public cloud will be a $200 billion business just three years from now, and partners better jump on board whether they feel ready or not.

"[Even] If you’re not quite engaged yet or are a little uncomfortable, you need to [take steps now]," Murai told a crowd during the event’s opening session.

Mobility, he said, offers a huge opportunity for partners to help businesses manage and store all of the data associated with mobile devices.

Murai also touched on software-defined networking, which he said will be a $3.8 billion market by 2016. He noted that a large number of companies are exploring analytics and big data to see how they can help grow their businesses.

With so many new technologies and new areas in which to sell, Murai advised partners "to focus on specific markets or specific technologies that you can be an expert in and be effective in going to market."

The sky’s the limit when you consider the opportunities in the current climate, he added.

"It really is up to your imagination to take that technology and translate that into useful solutions for your customers," Murai advised. "Help them be more successful by leveraging technology."

The IT market is in much better shape today than it was just a year ago, he said.
