NaviSite Inc., Time Warner Cable’s hosting and managed cloud services subsidiary, is talking up new changes to its DaaS product.
The company said it has added remote desktop services and a remote application delivery platform. This means users can be placed in multitenant environments without compromising security or access. The option works well for customers that can’t afford dedicated environments, which are expensive. IT administrators then can choose whether to expose the desktop and applications together or just to display the applications, NaviSite said.
"We wanted to deliver a DaaS solution that was easy to manage, allowing users to work in environments that could be updated on demand with minimal time required by the IT department," said Chris Patterson, vice president of product management for NaviSite. "With these enhancements, IT administrators can determine the user admin rights at the desktop level based on corporate policy or at the application level to meet the demands of their mobile and remote workforce, and scale up or down based on need. The result is an effective integration between the personnel who drive the business and the technology resources which facilitate it.”
All configurations feature business-hour support and off-hour critical support.
