Integra Will Connect to 75 Data Centers by Year’s End

Portland-based Integra Telecom reports that by the end of the year, it will have 75 on-network data centers. The provider of fiber-based, carrier-grade networking, communications and technology solutions currently connects to 62 data center locations across its network footprint and is expecting connectivity to an additional 13 data centers to come online during the fourth quarter of this year.

Integra estimates that the 62 data centers currently on its networks now extend to more than 3 million square feet of data-center floor space.

Integra’s on-network data centers include several locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah and Washington. In the Bay Area, the company is adding six new data centers to a metro region network that currently includes four connected data centers. In addition, seven more data centers are being added to other locations in the network, including four in the Phoenix area.

According to Integra, the company’s expanding data center footprint offers its customers high-bandwidth transport via the company’s extensive metro and long-haul fiber networks between their business locations and state-of-the-art IT infrastructures afforded by commercial data centers. Integra’s data center customers are supported with comprehensive carrier Ethernet services, including private Layer 2 E-Line services for secure point-to-point or hub-and-spoke connectivity between multiple locations. Data center tenants can also benefit from Integra’s managed services for private networking and business continuity/disaster recovery (BCDR), such as Wavelength Services and Cloud Firewall Service.

“As Integra continues to expand our fiber footprint and optimize our network solutions for cloud connectivity, our growing roster of third-party data centers represents a significant business opportunity and an ideal pairing of our network resources to the needs of enterprise and wholesale customers,” said Joseph Harding, Integra’s chief marketing officer. “We’re pleased with the acceleration we’ve achieved with our data center strategy and look forward to further expansion into strategic locations in the coming months.”
