Hosted unified communications-as-a-service (UCaaS) provider Alteva has sold most of its USA Datanet assets to an undisclosed buyer for $600,000.

Philadelphia-based Alteva says the sale supports its growth strategy by making the company more efficient internally, and by streamlining its UCaaS business by eliminating a non-core platform.

“The sale of these assets is a win for both parties,” states David Cuthbert, Alteva’s president & CEO. “Although we will lose approximately $2 million of legacy revenue on an annualized basis, the non-core platform is not part of our ongoing growth strategy. The legacy costs associated with this platform have been negatively impacting the profitability of our UCaaS segment. This transaction is another positive milestone for Alteva as we continue our focus on growing the business and overall operational efficiency.”

Meantime, the company is introducing Alteva Mobility for Smartphones and Desktops, its latest UCaaS product that provides end-users with a UC experience across smartphone and desktop platforms running on Windows, Mac, iOS and Android operating systems.

Alteva says benefits of the solution include a single profile across all platforms; synchronization of all communication preferences; HD voice and video, and more.
