After a trial run in select markets in Florida, Georgia and Texas, Aio Wireless is ready for prime time. AT&T says its new prepaid brand will be available to all U.S. customers beginning in mid-September.
New customers who activate service in Aio stores or through the Aio website by Sept. 29 will be eligible for the company’s fall promotion that gives them their third month of service for free.
We want to make it easy for consumers almost anywhere in the U.S. to get great value in their wireless service, with the network coverage and experience they deserve, and devices they can be proud to own," said Jennifer Van Buskirk, president of Aio Wireless.
Aio offers three plans from which to choose. All include unlimited talk, text, and data with a pre-established amount of high-speed access, including 4G LTE. Plans range from $40 to $70 per month, with taxes and fees included.
Aio offers a number of smartphones and tablets from Samsung, Nokia, ZTE and others. Customers can also bring a device of their choosing to an Aio store for activation on the Aio network or activate online at www.aiowireless.com. Qualifying wireless phones can be traded in for a credit toward an upgraded phone or accessory as well.
Prepaid has not been a big area of focus for AT&T until recently. The carrier is trying capitalize on customers’ cravings for simple plans without concerns about overages and surprise billings.
