Impact Telecom Taps Bob Stewart to Run Channel Program

Impact Telecom, which this year bought Matrix Telecom and AmericaTel, has hired longtime channel veteran Bob Stewart to run its up-and-coming partner program.

Stewart was working as head of Matrix Telecom’s channel when Impact acquired Matrix earlier this year; prior to that, he was leading the Excel Telecommunications indirect strategy, when Matrix snapped up Excel in 2010. Stewart now serves as director of agent sales, charged with expanding Impact’s business-services focus.

Stewart brings 16 years of channel development experience to his new role. With that in mind, Bob Beaty, president of Impact Telecom, said the company will use “multiple solid legacy agent programs to expand our focus on the commercial market. A strong, tenured management team, together with attention to detail, will ensure this programs success.”

Impact said it is looking to agents, consultants and other sales partners to sell its services, which range from local and long-distance voice to Internet access, IP VPNs and integrated T-1s.
