for our list of July’s hottest selling smartphones.**
A whole slew of new smartphones aimed at both the business user and the general consumer are poised to make their debuts at Verizon Wireless before the month is out. Release dates for Motorola’s Moto X and DROID Ultra, as well as the HTC One, are included in a Verizon "road map" leaked to Phone Arena this week.
The DROID Ultra, the document says, will launch on Tuesday, Aug. 20, alongside the DROID Maxx. The Moto X will follow on Friday, Aug. 23 a date that lines up with previous leaks. That will be followed by the HTC One on Thursday, Aug. 29. A number of other devices, including the LG Exalt (described as a high-end flip phone), the LG Enact, Samsung Convoy 3 and DROID Mini are also poised to launch on Aug. 29.
The Moto X is probably the most significant of the new releases. It has a 4.7-inch display, a 10MP camera and will run on Android 4.2.2. It has a 1.7GHz, dual-core processor; 2GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage.
The HTC One has a quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch screen, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage. It’s been available at other carriers for a few months now, often showing up among the top sellers at AT&T and Sprint. Many wonder if the HTC One will have much of an impact considering that the Moto X will debut first at Verizon.
