Business users who want an alternative to the iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy S4 have been turning to the HTC One as an alternative, but if your company is locked up with Verizon Wireless, you haven’t been able to get it. That’s about to change, according to a document leaked to Droid Life.
America’s largest wireless operator will debut the device on Aug. 15, the report says. A device schedule for Verizon released earlier this year indicated it was coming tomorrow, but since it hasn’t been announced yet, that’s clearly changed.
Other operators have offered the One for a few months now; it’s frequently been among the top three sellers at AT&T and Sprint, as this list shows.
The delay means the One might never become a big seller for Verizon. That’s because Motorola Mobility is slated to release Google’s Moto X, another flagship Android phone, before long (an official unveiling is expected Thursday), and it seems there is only room for so many devices that aren’t named iPhone or Galaxy.
The Moto X is expected to come with 2GB of RAM, a dual-core processor, run on Android 4.2, and feature a 4.5-inch display. The HTC One has a quad-core processor, a 4.7-inch screen, 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage.
