Dropbox for Business has teamed with a company that specializes in unified logins in a move that adds even more security assurances to the cloud document management and file-sharing application.
Centrify Corp. is providing the single sign-on access control, via Active Directory and the SAML standard, so IT staff may oversee who’s accessing programs and resources.
The addition creates a new selling point for channel partners offering Dropbox for Business, and means users now have one lass password to remember. Centrify said installation takes five minutes, connecting Active Directory to Dropbox for Business through Centrify’s cloud service, without replicating sensitive data to the cloud or a third party. Customers enroll their mobile devices in Centrify Cloud Service for access to all of their native mobile and web apps, including Dropbox for Business.
Besides the new technology partnership, Dropbox for Business and Centrify also will conduct joint webinars, marketing campaigns, field sales introductions, customer referral programs and more.
