Channel partners for EarthLink Business can expect several new products in its emerging IT services portfolio as a result of the communications company’s plans to buy managed service provider CenterBeam Inc., according to the company’s channel chief.
J.R. Cook, vice president of channel sales at EarthLink Business, told Channel Partners the company will launch a consolidated portfolio to its channel in third quarter, following the acquisition’s close.
EarthLink Inc. announced Monday an agreement to acquire CenterBeam, of Sunnyvale, Calif., for $22 million. CenterBeam provides remote managed IT and help-desk services primarily to multilocation midmarket businesses in North America.
CenterBeam does not have a channel program of its own, but EarthLink will enable several of CenterBeam’s services to be sold through EarthLink Business sales partners. These services include CenterBeam’s 365+ Hosted Collaboration Suite (Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, Lync), Virtual DataCenter (Virtual Applications, Virtual Desktop), endpoint management, infrastructure management and professional services.
“The consolidated solution portfolio will provide the EarthLink Channel with additional products that we feel are valuable the market while enhancing our ability to be a one-stop IT solutions provider for our customers,” said Cook.
EarthLink, an ISP and network services company, announced its entry into the IT services space with a suite of cloud-based services in April 2012. Its portfolio has grown to include additional services as well as an outsourced IT help desk.
