Unified threat management provider Fortinet Inc. aims to go upmarket and, as a result, has appointed two people to fill two vacant channel positions.
The goal, according to reports, is to streamline communications and boost partner certifications to help resellers target bigger customers. To that point, CRN and Channelnomics reported on Monday that Fortinet has named Peter Brant as vice president of Americas sales, and Bryan Wood as U.S. channel chief.
Brant previously worked as Fortinet’s vice president of Americas enterprise sales and Wood was vice president of U.S. channel and mid-enterprise sales. Wood reports to Brant and oversees daily channel operations.
The appointments fill the gaps left by Michael Valentine and Kendra Krause, both of whom left to work at Sophos Ltd., an antivirus and endpoint security firm.
CRN reported that Wood said channel partners will see no significant changes to the FortiPartner Program.
