Huawei said last week at its Global Analyst Summit that it plans to focus more on platforms for enterprises over the next fiver years.
"We expect Huawei Enterprise’s sales revenue to reach $2.7 billion in 2013, achieving a sales revenue target of $10 billion by 2017," said William Xu, CEO of Huawei Enterprise Business Group. The convergence of communications and information technology, he added, "has brought about great opportunities for Huawei to contribute to the evolution of this market."
Huawei sells its enterprise platforms through channel partners. The company said it had more than 3,500 channel partners by the end of 2012 and expects that number to reach 5,400 by the end of this year. Huawei entered the United States market last year, competing with the likes of Cisco Systems Inc.
As cable providers rely more on fiber, there will be more opportunities for channel partners. @spectrumbiz https://t.co/WFRYJe61khttps://t.co/WFRYJe61k6trumBiz
