CompTIA, the non-profit association for the IT industry, announced the members of its 2013-14 Board of Directors, including a new chairman and five new directors, who take office May 1.
MJ Shoer, president and virtual CTO of Jenaly Technology Group Inc., was elected chairman of CompTIAs Board of Directors for 2013-14. An active member of the association for more than a decade, Shoer served a previous term as a CompTIA director and board secretary and has held numerous other membership leadership positions in the association.
For the second consecutive year Bob Stegner, senior vice president of marketing for SYNNEX Corp., will serve as vice chairman. Mike Brogan, president and CEO of Erbs Technology Solutions, chairs the boards Audit Committee.
Newly elected to the CompTIA Board of Directors are:
Continuing on the board as immediate past chair is Bob Godgart, founder and CEO of ChannelEyes LLC and founder and former CEO of Autotask Corp. Also returning to the board in 2013 are Don Bentz, co-founder, Preferred IT Group LLC; Paul Cronin, senior vice president, Atrion Networking Corp. Inc.; Janet Schijns, vice president, business solution, Verizon Wireless; Frank Vitagliano, vice president, channel sales, Dell; and Dan Wensley, vice president, partner development and marketing, Level Platforms Inc.
As president of CompTIA, Todd Thibodeaux is also a voting member of the Board of Directors. Two other CompTIA executives hold non-voting board officer posts. Dan Liutikas, CompTIAs chief legal officer, serves as board secretary; and David Sommer, CFO, is board treasurer.
Leaving the CompTIA Board of Directors at the end of April 2013 are Chuck Lennon, president, TeamLogic IT; Nancy K. Hedrick, president and CEO, CSI Technology Outfitters; Linda Lynch, president, KI Technology Group; Mike Parrottino, vice president, personal systems group sales and business management, Hewlett-Packard; and Fernando Quintero, vice president, channel sales and operations, McAfee.
