Tech Workers Snub iPad in Favor of Microsoft Surface

It looks like those commercials with the cool "kickstand" have worked: Tech workers have fallen in love with the Microsoft Surface tablet, if new research is to be taken at face value.

A new Forrester Research survey shows that almost one-third (32 percent) of the nearly 10,000 global-information workers who responded said they want their next tablet PC to run Microsoft’s Windows software.

On the smartphone side, the iPhone is still king, getting 33 percent of the vote. Interestingly, despite their like for Windows on a tablet, Windows Phone handsets like the Nokia Lumia 920 and the HTC 8X are of no interest. Only 10 percent said they want their next phone to feature Windows, PC World reported.

Part of the reason could be this: Windows and its applications are already so prevalent in the business world that those surveyed might just assume they would have to get one with Microsoft’s operating system anyway or would need to have the Surface in order for it to be compatible with everything else they run.
