Microsoft Approves 6 snom Phones for Lync

IP phone maker snom technology AG said on Thursday six of its UC edition devices now are qualified to work with Microsoft Lync Server 2010.

The interoperability gives businesses more choices when it comes to the phones they use with Lync.

The six qualified phones are the snom 710, 720, 760 IP phones, and the snom 300, 370 and 821. Each one uses snom’s new Apollo firmware; features vary according to model. For example, some support IP PBX capabilities such as call parking, music on hold and presence, while others have high-resolution color displays and more.

Giovanni Mezgec, general manager of Microsoft Lync, said the phones deliver "enhanced IP PBX functionality and server management capabilities to Lync customers. [They] will offer Microsoft partners and resellers more options to address customer needs and add tremendous value to the Lync ecosystem.”

snom is distributing the Lync-approved phones through its channel partners.
