Integra Revenues Stable as Sales Continue to Shift

Portland, Ore.-based Integra Telecom grew revenues for the third consecutive quarter, but total revenue is still down slightly from the year-ago period.

Total revenue for Q3 2012 was $149 million compared to $148.6 million in Q2 and $150.1 million in Q3 2011. Gross profit was off slightly from the previous quarter down from $99 million to $98.1 million and also lower when compared to the year-ago quarter ($98.4 million).

The company says it has demonstrated new sales success in targeted customer and product areas. A favorable churn rate (down from 1.19 percent to 1.11 percent quarter over quarter) "demonstrate[s] stability within [the company’s] footprint and resiliency in traditional products amongst smaller-sized customers."

Integra touts its continued growth and investment in new product development its hosted voice launch, for example and its network expansion that includes 309 additional on-net locations this year, as well as a successful Ethernet-over-copper buildout.

"Integra continues to achieve its financial and network expansion objectives and shift its business mix towards a more fiber-based, high growth product set while returning capital spending to normalized, sustainable levels," the company said in its earnings report.

The CLEC says it’s seeing a shift in sales toward more strategic, higher growth products that are in greater demand from enterprise and wholesale customers.
