AT&T confirmed that three new Windows Phone 8 smartphones will be ready for pick-up before the Thanksgiving festivities begin.
Customers can start pulling out their wallets this week because the Nokia Lumia 920 goes on sale for $99.99 and the Nokia Lumia 820 for $49.99 starting Nov. 9th, the carrier said. By Thanksgiving, the HTC Windows Phone 8X will also be available for $99.99. A new, two-year service agreement, of course, is required.
The Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 will both be available for online pre-order on Nov. 7th.
Nokia’s Lumia 920, the company’s new flagship device, includes a 8.7-megapixel camera with floating lens technology to help eliminate blur while capturing photos or videos. Its camera can also take in five times more light than typical smartphones, which allows for higher quality photos and videos in low light.
In addition, the Lumia 920 has the largest battery that Nokia has put in a smartphone, and it also includes built-in charging capabilities. AT&T said it will throw in a free wireless charging plate for a limited time and while supplies last.
This phone is built for optimized readability in bright light conditions, and its scratch-resistant display includes a new sensitive touch screen so customers can type with fingernails or while wearing gloves.
The Lumia 920 will be available in red, black, yellow and cyan.
The 820 doesn’t have as many bells and whistles, but the $50 price tag makes it more than competitive.
The HTC 8X has a 4.3-inch screen; a dual-core, 1.5GHz processor and 16GB of built-in storage. It’s also being touted for having a fabulous front-facing camera.
Security and UCaaS and SD-WAN, the triple-headed monster, dominated the news last week. https://t.co/Yoq7yrjhkf
