WTG said on Monday it has promoted Mark Sondergaard and hired an industry veteran to fill his vacated role.

As of Nov. 1, Sondergaard will move from vice president of sales to senior vice president of provider relations.

“During these past three years with WTG, I have really grown to love the provider community and can’t wait to dive in to my new … role,” Sondergaard said.

Sondergaard holds more than 26 years’ experience in telecom; he worked for Sprint and McLeodUSA before coming to WTG.

Meanwhile, WTG has hired Sondergaard’s replacement, Susan Penevolpe. Penevolpe comes to WTG from West IP Communications, where she worked as a channel manager. She’ll take over as vice president of sales on Nov. 1, as well, overseeing the master agency’s sales efforts. Her telecom career began in 1993 and, over the years, she also has worked for companies including Centex Telemanagement, MSF Intelenet, GoBeam/Covad. Penevolpe said she joins WTG at an “exhilarating time in the industry.”

“The convergence of the VAR community with the channel, WTG’s Cloudology division and so much more I can’t wait to get started,” she said.

Both Sondergaard and Penevolpe report to WTG CEO Vince Bradley.
