Digium Inc. has added online training so certifications can be earned more quickly.
Digium created and sponsors the Asterisk project, which is open-source IP communications software. The company wants more VARs, integrators and developers to join its channel program, so it has modified some requirements.
In short, the company has reduced training time to five days, and removed the requirement that Asterisk integrators have a Digium-certified Asterisk partner on staff.
"There are hundreds of developers who have built successful businesses by creating custom communications solutions with Asterisk who have not yet taken advantage of joining our partner program," said Jim Butler, director of global channel sales for Digium. "We would like to see those developers explore the certification and program benefits we offer as part of our revised Asterisk Integrator program so that we can continue to serve the market areas where skilled Asterisk partners are in demand."
Digum runs a three-tiered channel program; partners may join at the Select, Registered or Affiliate levels. Each rung offers its own incentives, marketing support, training, and discounted demo kits. Affiliate partners may join with no revenue requirement.
