Windstream has gotten even closer to being considered a major service provider for businesses.
The company this week said it has earned Cisco Gold Certification and Master Managed Services Certification; that means Windstream is authorized to offer and work with Cisco equipment and software. The certification gives channel partners another selling point, too, when working with prospects.
Windstream specializes in unified communications, routing and switching security, and wireless LAN.
Windstream now sells the full line of Cisco data products, including routers, switches, wireless access devices and security technologies.
The most important part of being recognized as a Cisco Gold Certified Partner, is it shows that we truly put the customer first,” Don Perkins, Windstream’s vice president of business marketing, said in a prepared statement.
Windstream’s heritage lies in rural phone service for consumers. In the past few years, however, the Arkansas-based provider has turned its focus to SMBs and enterprises with the help of acquisitions including NuVox and PAETEC.
