ORLANDOThe two-year-old Women in the Channel (WIC) group is gaining momentum and membership. As a result, the coalition is about to receive its nonprofit status and is creating a board of directors.
WIC members originally were not going to form a board. But the time has come for measurability, accountability and rotating leadership, speakers said Tuesday night in Orlando, kicking off the Fall 2012 Channel Partners Conference & Expo. To that end, board members will serve for one-year terms. The first election will be held next month; terms begin in December. Nominations are open now on the WIC website.

Another key point was the impact collaboration has had on WIC members. For example, collaboration has put $300,000 into the Telcombrokers pipeline so far, said Nancy Ridge, vice president of Telcombrokers and co-founder of WIC.
