In spite of an earlier report to the contrary, AT&T employees are not all prohibited from taking some time off in about a month when Apple is expected to release the sixth-generation iPhone.
A spokesperson for the telecommunications giant told 9to5Mac there is no company-wide vacation blackout at the end of September.
On Sunday, TechCrunch reported that AT&T staff was given a vacation blackout from Sept. 21 through Sept. 30. That story followed a report from TechCrunch that Verizon was prohibiting employees from taking vacation during those dates. An AT&T spokesperson later reached out to TechCrunch to clarify there is no vacation blackout.
Still, AT&T and Verizon likely want most of their employees around for what could be the biggest smartphone debut in history. Many analysts expect the next iPhone to set sales records.
Apple is expected to announce the sixth-generation iPhone at a special event on Sept. 12, then begin selling the device on Sept. 21.
