Dell will replace its president of enterprise solutions with a former Hewlett-Packard executive to give the company a boost in the global technology service market.

Marius Haas left his position as senior vice president for HP’s networking division after working with the company for about seven years. He will take Brad Anderson’s position at Dell, but it is uncertain whether Anderson will leave the company, Reuters reported.

Dell needs to trim expenses. The company has been losing market share and now has to contend with Asia-based PC makers. The company plans to cut more than $2 billion in spending over the next three years while focusing on the technology needs of corporations, Reuters said.

Dell also wants to continue branching out from personal computers as iPads and other mobile devices pull consumers away. The computer-maker has bought eight companies over the past year, including Wyse Technology and SonicWall.
