Phone and server maker Estech Systems Inc. (ESI) says it is getting into the cloud market with the appointment of a new executive.
Ron Owens, who has been hired as vice president of cloud solutions, will oversee development of recurring revenue platforms. ESI said the solutions Owens and his team create will work with iPhones and Android-based devices, as well as the company’s own Android-based desktop smartphone. Initially, ESI will target the legal industry with its cloud-based products and services.
Owens comes to ESI from ARIA Solutions, where he served as vice president of client solutions. He also has worked for Nortel Networks, First Data and Convergys/Intervoice.
Cloud solutions are top-of-mind among enterprises who want to focus on their core business,” Owens said. “Solutions in the cloud allow them to take advantage of getting their communications systems and applications up and running faster, with improved manageability and less maintenance, while meeting fluctuating and unpredictable business demand. ESI is well positioned in this growing market.”
