Level 3 Communications Inc. on Monday announced a multiyear pact with Time Warner Cable Inc. to expand the cable company’s national network.
Level 3 said it further agreed to deliver core infrastructure services that will improve the redundancy and reliability of the network owned by Time Warner Cable, the nation’s second-largest cable TV operator.
Time Warner Cable and Level 3 also agreed to exchange IP traffic between their backbone networks. Financial terms weren’t disclosed.
The two companies already had a business relationship, according to Level 3 chief technology officer Jack Waters.
