Fiber provider Zayo Group said on Tuesday it’s overseeing yet another network expansion, this time in Las Vegas.
The Colorado-based carrier has, in the last six months, also added on to its assets in Denver; Albuquerque, N.M., Phoenix; Louisville, Ken.; Nashville, Tenn.
This week, Zayo said its Vegas network soon will feature 155 miles of new fiber, increasing coverage in the downtown corridor and bringing fiber into the suburbs of Sloan, Henderson and North Las Vegas. When the work is done, Zayo will own more than 400 route miles of fiber in the Las Vegas megro market.
Matt Erickson, president of Zayo Fiber and Transport Infrastructure, said the company is experiencing high demand for bandwidth from customers in the wireless, data center and gaming industries.
"Las Vegas has been an important market for Zayo," Erickson said.
