Sprint on Monday announced that its 4G LTE debut has extended to 15 cities throughout parts of Georgia, Kansas, Missouri and Texas.
The nation’s third-largest wireless carrier has launched its high-speed network in and around Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Kansas City and San Antonio. Sprint also revealed plans to launch 4G in and around Waco, Texas.
Sprint, based in Overland Park, Kan., said it plans to launch other 4G LTE markets in the second half of the year. Sprint also said the new network should significantly improve its 3G service.
“This new network is performing extremely well and customers should find it consistent, reliable and really fast,” said Sprint’s Bob Azzi, senior vice president-Network.
Sprint is likely hoping that its 4G coverage will help drive more customers to plans that cost $79.99 and up for data, texting and calling.
